      WINTER SEASON 2017

It has been one of...if not the best regular season in terms of competitive games and great close games. The opening round of the playoffs, proved to be the absolute best playoff week ever with 3 overtime games and the other coming down to a last second shot. So we get to the finals could we expect anything less? Of course not!

In what was two fantastic, close knit, well played games, we had A.B.S. take home our B-Division (East) Title, while In Like Flynn...upset former Champion and regular season champion, MC Elite!

These two games were great as we exchanged leads often. No team extended the other by more than 8 but usually it was within 4 most of the night and we had a laundry list of on court heroics and players from both sides, keeping the games within arms length of each other!

In the opener Adam, Kevin and Mark paced the Champs, ABS, while Riq and KJ kept things rolling for Coastal. Each team played very fundamental basketball as the games stayed close and well played for 40 minutes!

The A Division was a shocker as again, both sides played well and looked very evenly matched! MC Elite, the regular season champ was paced by Chris, Brian and Gaz, while our new Champs, In Like Flynn rode the hoops of Jamel, Bryan, Joe and Klevan poured in almost 95 percent of all In Like Flynn's points. It was a great night of hoops at the PAL!

Congrats to all teams and especially toour winners...In Like Flynn and

In what was the most exciting, entertaining and well played finals in recent memory, it took Center Grove's Finest 40 + 2 Minutes to put away a very talented Team Klitch in our East Division and The Grasshopper flexed their muscle and reclaimed their crown as they too outlasted an exceptional well balanced Hard in The Paint Team!

In the first game it was all Team Klitch early, as they jumped out to a 9-0 lead to start the game. The lead grew to as many as 15 throughout the first half as Klitch's Christian kept draining threes as Klitch took a 10 point half time lead. The second have was as good of basketball as the MCAL has ever offered. Out of the second half, Center Grove roard back to tie the score at 36 with 16 minutes to play. Back and forth as the lead never went more than 5 in either direction. At the end of regulation a shot by Klitch fell short and off to overtime we went. In the OT it was all Center Grove as CG's Darrel and Jack hit 8 unanswered and it was Center Grove's third championship over the past few years. CGF's Jack lead all scorers with 27 while teammate Darrel ended with 21 to lead the charge.

The second game was equally entertaining as both The Grasshopper and Hard in The Paint battled back and forth. Grasshopper held the early lead, but Hard In The Paint came right back to take the lead early and the intensity mounted. Two tech's were issued as players were really into the contests. With Grasshopper finally taking somewhat of a control they ended at the half with The Grasshopper up 7. The second haf stayed tight. Back and forth as Hard In The Paint's Austin connected for 15 second haf points. But The Grasshopper's Brandon and Courtney took it to the glass scoring 24 and 22 respectivly, leading all scorers and the Grasshopper to the title. Congrats to all teams and a job Well Done by Center Grove's Finest and The Grasshopper!

      Swamp Squad Defeats Hard Work
Riverside Ballaz Out Duels Los Diablos
In what was expected to be two hard fought battles lived up to all of the hype as the capacity crowds were treated to two excellent games as we have crowned our 2016 Winter Season Champions! In the opener, Swamp Squad hosted Hard Work and as tauted, the game went back and forth. Swamp Squad jumped out to a quick lead, but Hard Work came right back and then took a small lead themselves. After the first 20 minutes it was 28-26 Swamp Squad and we all knew the second half would be great! The second half had Hard Work get a 5 point lead, and 12 missed foul shots by the Swampers did not help matters. In the end, it was some clutch shooting Swamp Squads Devin and Matt that made the difference in a 55 - 51 final in favor of the Swamp Boys! Hard Work's Kyrel had 19 points and played fantastically in the loss! Great Job by both teams.
Our nightcap was not as close as we had all expected. Riverside's very potent offense appeared to be too much for the Diablos as Riverside opened up a 20 point halftime lead and things looked very bleek for the Diablos. Hower, the Tobin Brothers caught fire and trimed the lead to 7 with just about 2:30 minutes left. But Riverside once again flexed their muscles as Zore, Tommy and Troy put on a shooting show and put the game away. Zore finished with 29, while Tommy ended with 26 and Sargent Troy netted 20 to give the Ballaz yet another title, probably our most celebrated team over the years! Matt T ened with 27 to keep Los Diablos in the game, but was just not enough.
Congrats to Swamp Squad and Riverside Ballaz..our 2016 Winter Season Champions!
